I come from a family of keen gardeners, and began gardening at an
early age. I have always loved the natural world and beautiful things.
I get a lot of pleasure from revealing the hidden and essential
beauty of a garden through my work . Gardening allows me to use my
creativity in a practical way. I also like to help people enjoy
gardens that were previously a worry and a burden.
I learnt a
great deal about plants at Sonning Common Herb Farm. I love working with wild
flowers and herbs. I gained considerable experience in greenhouse work,
pricking out and potting on thousands of seedlings. I also learnt the art
of appropriate watering. I have a flair for container displays.
I began my horticultural training
in a nine acre domestic garden, where I continue to work today. I
tend the vegetable garden, the fruit cage, the apple orchard, and the large herbacious borders. I can prune roses and small trees, and enjoy driving
tractors!
I am
currently studying for my RHS level 2 certificate, and thoroughly enjoying it.

Through my work as
The Garden Pixie I
am experienced in keeping many different types of gardens tidy and healthy.
I work in small and perfect ones which just need light tidying, and large and
rambling ones, which need a much firmer hand! I find that every garden has its
own unique character, and I tailor my approach to reveal its full potential.
Sometimes when a garden has really grown wild I feel like a horticultural Supernanny!
My rate is £15 per hour. I
offer a free initial consultation, to give you a rough estimate of how long
a particular task will take, or to suggest ways your garden could work
better for you, in terms of structure and planting.
I
will respect your property and work carefully and safely to avoid accidents.
I am aware of health and safety law.
I use my own gardening tools, which are good quality and well cared for.
I am based near Pangbourne,
and can travel locally.
